Martin Giani
Martin Gioani, a French guitarist and teacher, is best known for his Youtube channel and his website “Guitare Improvisation“.
After learning the violin for 8 years reluctantly, he became passionate about the guitar at the age of 15 and despite long scientific studies, he finally decided to start teaching guitar.
Afterwards, Martin has been teaching guitar as an independent guitar tutor and also in a music school while studying at the Conservatoire of Chambéry in France. It was at that time that he created his website: Guitare-improvisation.com on which he publishes many pages with the aim to help guitarists to progress in improvisation. He started creating video content a little later, on his Youtube channel Guitare Improvisation (currently with over 200K subscribers).
Martin never got tired of this job. A job he has been doing for 10 years. His website contains more than 100 (and 1300 videos on Youtube)! The lessons are in many different styles like jazz and gipsy jazz, but also funk, blues, or even on rarer subjects or instruments like the cavaquinho. There are even courses for (future) teachers!
Martin has already been part of several educational events, the most notable being Django in June in the United States in 2019: an intense week of gipsy jazz courses for students from around the world.
Musically speaking, his latest creation is the album with the group Paris Music Tales in a waltz and gipsy jazz style, in which he composed half of the titles. The Guitar Pro file available for download on this page is from this CD.
Martin has been using Guitar Pro for 20 years now. All of his online and in-person lesson materials are made using it. He even published Guitar Pro 5 tutorials on Youtube in 2013 and has plans to publish more in the future.
Martin is very appreciated by the guitarist community for his rather fussy approach to teaching, and his site is well-known and recognized in the French guitar world. He also has a notoriety abroad, mainly linked to the backing tracks he publishes, which are all recorded and mixed by him and which have the advantage of displaying the chords of the grid as they are played.
Martin is also a multi-tasker and multi-instrumentalist as he also plays the double bass and the piano, but also codes his website, and rumor has it that he is currently developing an ear training application…
