Alex Jung
Alex Jung, an independent artist from Bavaria, Germany, discovered his passion for music through the guitar-driven melodies and riffs of the ’90s. Captivated by the enchanting world of improvisation and the intricate art of crafting captivating melodies, Alex’s journey into the realm of jazz and complex instrumental music began during his studies at UMPA Munich, where he earned his degree in jazz guitar in 2008.
Since then, he has been sharing and continuing to broaden his knowledge through teaching at the same institution. He is also working as a guitar teacher at “Neue Jazzschool München” since 2010.
With over two decades of experience touring alongside seasoned artists in the jazz and classical scenes across Europe such as Martin Grubingers Percussive Planet Ensemble, Klaus Doldingers Passport and the release of 7 albums with his own led groups he continues to shape his voice on the instrument.
Through his diligent guitar research, along with the sharing of etudes on social media platforms, Alex has carved out a distinctive niche in the guitar community followed by many of today’s most influential players of the instrument.
The recent release of his EP “INSIDE PASSAGE” marks the culmination of compositions that have long served as the backbone of his acoustic jazz trio, featuring esteemed collaborators Heiko Jung and Sebastian Lanser.
With the changes happening in 2020, Alex seized the opportunity to explore the full potential of these melodies, delving deep into their sonic intricacies and expanding their horizons beyond the confines of traditional jazz guitar trio arrangements, charting a bold new musical direction.
