Sonia Konaté
Sonia Konaté is an accomplished French guitarist, mastering a range of musical genres from Soul and RnB to Pop, Jazz, and Reggae. She currently accompanies renowned artists such as Billy Ocean and the Nu Civilisation Orchestra and has collaborated with Lizzo, Beverly Knight, Soweto Kinch, and Dyo.
Introduced to the guitar at the age of 8, she joined the ETM in Geneva in 2009, benefiting from the teaching of Christophe Godin, and then moved to London to study at the TECH Music School (now BIMM). She was influenced by Femi Temowo, Amy Winehouse‘s former guitarist and musical director. After her time in the UK, Sonia returned to France to continue her jazz studies at the Lyon Conservatoire.
As well as her live performances and studio recordings, Sonia is dedicated to producing teaching content specializing in NeoSoul/RnB guitar techniques and various interviews with guitar specialists.
