Javier Valdi
Javier Valdi, a guitarist from Spain, is distinguished by his virtuoso metal music and unique playing style. His musical journey began at the age of 7 with classical guitar, which influenced his current fingerstyle technique. He later transitioned to electric guitar, focusing on metal and rock music, and was influenced by a diverse range of guitarists such as Marty Friedman, Pat Metheny, John Petrucci, and Paco de Lucía.
To broaden his electric guitar knowledge, he delved into the study of jazz music, and later he started his studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Since moving to the Netherlands, he has played with numerous bands spanning different genres, worked as a session player for pop artists and bands, and conducted metal guitar clinics, earning him a feature on Gitarist.nl.
Javier mainly plays his Ibanez RG652AHM tuned down to C# standard, perfectly complementing his intense and precise playing style. Currently, he is active as a session guitarist while also being a member of several metal bands and pursuing his own musical projects.
His collaborations include working with Laura Guldemond from Burning Witches, further solidifying his presence in the metal music scene.
Guitar Pro is a great tool for me when it comes to both teaching and creating music.
It allows me to shape exercises for my students, create detailed chord and scale diagrams, and transcribe music with precision.
It’s also perfect for composing and arranging my own music, with a clear representation of the techniques I use in my playing, making it an essential tool in my musical toolkit.
