guitar pro news 2025, new mobile application, namm show 2025

Hi, this is Thomas from Guitar Pro.

Here’s an exclusive first look at the upcoming version of the Guitar Pro mobile app.

Guitar Pro’s mobile version is primarily a tab and sheet music reader, and that will remain the case in the next version.

This new version is currently in development and is not yet available. Subscribe to the Guitar Pro newsletter to stay updated on the release date.

We’d love to hear your suggestions and questions in the comments below. Our team will be happy to answer. The full list of new features is not finalized yet, so now is the perfect time to share your ideas.

What improvements would you like to see in this new version?

A completely redesigned Guitar Pro app

We have completely redesigned the app to offer you a smoother and more intuitive interface, featuring a new homepage and a modern design:

With this upcoming mobile app, you will get the same sound and visual rendering as Guitar Pro 8!

You will be able to play audio files embedded in your scores as well as those from mySongBook.

One of the essential features of Guitar Pro 8 will be included in this new app: the Speed Trainer, which allows you to gradually slow down or speed up the tempo.

A new display mode will also be available: dark mode. This is one of the most requested features by Guitar Pro users.

A preview of upcoming features

Here is a non-final and non-exhaustive list of features that will be available in the new Guitar Pro mobile app:

  • A new modernized interface
  • A new homepage
  • Sound and visual rendering equivalent to Guitar Pro 8
  • The ability to play audio tracks (including mySongBook songs)
  • Dynamic zoom, similar to Guitar Pro 8
  • New display options, including multi-track view and Guitar Pro 8 layouts
  • Fretboard and keyboard views
  • Scales displayed on the fretboard and keyboard views
  • Fixed cursor mode (the score scrolls while the cursor stays centered on the screen)
  • Selection directly on the score
  • The relative tonality feature
  • Image export (PDF, PNG, etc.)

And here are the improvements for mySongBook in the mobile app:

  • The ability to play the audio track
  • Filters to sort the list of available songs in mySongBook
  • The option to use mySongBook credits directly within the app

Make your voice heard!

Your feedback is essential!

What do you think of these new features? What improvements would you like to see? Share your thoughts in the comments!

“ Hi, we are working on a real-time MIDI capture”.
That is GREAT news. Can’t wait for this to be released. I didn’t realize that this page was about the GP app on mobile device. I was talking about the GP9 on MacOS.
Hope that midi capture comes soon 😉

Also would be great:
– auto input mode when using the keyboard view: on MacOS you have to press and hold the control key in order to auto jump to the next note, I created a ticket for this issue about 10 years ago …
– auto jump to the next bar when entering chords, and ditch the C7M notation for major7 chords please!

Thx in advance

Thomas Duflos - mars 20, 2025

Thank you very much for your suggestions! I’ve shared them with the team. 🙂

Tenor - mars 19, 2025

still no real time midi input? like in pressing record and playing the guitar part on a midi keyboard. Wouldn’t that be nice? and so efficient. this is the main reason why I keep using Sibelius

Thomas Duflos - mars 20, 2025

Hi, we are working on a real-time MIDI capture.

Rick Martell - mars 17, 2025

Hi folks,

For the new app, could you have a fly out menu with scales/chord suggestions?

Thanks,

RM

Thomas Duflos - mars 19, 2025

Hi Rick, thank you for your request, that would be great indeed.

Marc Esbjerg - mars 14, 2025

Oh, another thing that just came to my mind: export as video would be really cool too!

Thomas Duflos - mars 19, 2025

Hi Marc, I agree, that would be awesome. Thank you for your comment.

An Liu - mars 12, 2025

In guitar pro 9, can the let ring stop precisely between notes?

Nicolas Arobas - mars 14, 2025

Hi An,
Currently, it is not possible to stop a ‘let ring’ precisely between two notes. We’ve added this suggestion to our wishlist for future improvements, but we can’t share more details about the upcoming features of Guitar Pro 9 at this time. Thanks for your comprehension 😊

Gergely Besenyei - mars 10, 2025

Please let us see the left and right hand fingering on mobile version, very important.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 14, 2025

Hi Gergely,
Thanks for your suggestion! We’ve added these fingering options to our wishlist for future improvements. 😊

Jean Desrosiers - mars 9, 2025

I have been having lots of problems with lyrics overlapping in different view modes. Hope this will be fixed for good.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 14, 2025

Hi Jean,
Sorry to hear you’re experiencing issues with lyrics overlapping. If the problem persists, we recommend reaching out to our support team so we can assist you: https://support.guitar-pro.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.
We’ll be happy to help 🙂

Maksim - mars 9, 2025

Hello. Why the GP licensed users have to pay for mobile app? I understand if it was paid for those who don’t have a license but for us who do isn’t seem to be fair…

Nicolas Arobas - mars 14, 2025

Hi Maskim,
We understand your concern. The mobile app is a separate product that requires its own development and maintenance. That’s why it’s not included with the desktop license. However, we appreciate your feedback and will take it into account! Thanks for your understanding.

Kevin - mars 7, 2025

Not a comment, but a couple of questions…
Can you write to the mobile version?
If I have GP8 for laptop, is there a separate cost for the mobile version, or is it included?

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Kevin,
As of today, you can edit a single track using the Notepad feature in the mobile app, but we aim to offer more editing features in future versions.
Your Guitar Pro 8 license does not include free access to the mobile app, as it is a separate product available for purchase on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Thanks for your understanding and interest!

Gino Keller - mars 6, 2025

Hi Sheldon,
Danke für die Möglichkeit von Anpassungswünschen:
1.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Gino,
Danke für all Ihre Vorschläge! 😊

Steffen S - mars 6, 2025

The update is a really welcome change! Is there a rough timeline for the release?

Since I switched mobile ecosystems, I’d need to purchase the app again on iOS. Will it be an upgrade of the current app or a new purchase?

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Steffen,
The access conditions are not finalized, and the release date is not planned yet, but we’ll keep you informed as soon as possible.
Thanks for your patience and interest! 😊

Dmytro - mars 4, 2025

I don’t see anywhere iCloud sync added. C’mon, it’s 2025 already! I can’t use your app without a proper sync with MY OWN iCloud files. I don’t want anything else.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 14, 2025

Hi,
Thanks for your feedback. We understand the importance of iCloud sync and have added it to our wishlist for future improvements. 😊

Calimero - mars 4, 2025

Hello,
just to mention issue of piano left hand and right hand are out of tune in iOS Player when using file done on GP8 on Mac. No change of Bass tuning in + or – worked to resolve it..

Regards

Nicolas Arobas - mars 14, 2025

Hi Calimero,
Sorry to hear you’re experiencing issues with the app. If this issue persists, we invite you to contact our Support and provide one of your Guitar Pro files, we’ll be happy to help 🙂
https://support.guitar-pro.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

Danny Mientjes - mars 4, 2025

I love guitarPro, looking forward to the new mobile app.
For the next version of GuitarPro 9 Desktop:
It would be great if I could save (export) a GuitarPro track as a video file.
(This in order to import it into a DAW like Logic Pro, and play along and record)
Also looking forward to the ‘fixed cursor mode’
In de edit menu, make some sort of ‘swap’ function.
Make it possible to highlight notes or parts of the score.
Make more smart editing options within the fretboard viewer
Recording via the line-in

Thanks

Nicolas Arobas - mars 14, 2025

Hi Danny,
Thanks for your suggestions! We’re always happy to hear new ideas for improving Guitar Pro. We’ve noted your feedback, and we appreciate your support. Feel free to reach out to our support team anytime if you have more feature requests: https://support.guitar-pro.com/hc/en-us/requests/new 🙂

Fernando Costa - mars 3, 2025

Why can I only download it at the Apple’s app store if I purchase it? I already have the license and everything. Why can’t I use it on my iphone?

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Fernando,
This new version is not available to this day. The access conditions are not finalized, and the release date is not planned yet, but we’ll keep you informed as soon as possible.
Thanks for your patience and interest! 😊

Marc Esbjerg - mars 3, 2025

A few things I’d love to see in GP9:
Recording sound straight into GP.
Merging multiple tracks/voices into one (for example if I’ve written all my bass drum and snare drum as one voice and all the cymbals as another, merging them together and have GP automatically figure out the note lenghts)
Time signature calculator: let’s say I’m writing a song in 4/4 but then I have a few bars that aren’t in 4/4 but I don’t know what they’re supposed to be in instead, I just know that it sounds right, so have a tool that lets me highlight bars and have GP fix the TS for me.
Tempo changer: Let’s say I’ve written a song at 60BPM but I’d like to have it written as 120 instead. Currently I’d have to manually change every single bar, but imagine if I didn’t!

Nicolas Arobas - mars 14, 2025

Hi Marc,
Thanks for your great suggestions! We appreciate your feedback and have taken note of your ideas for potential improvements. Feel free to reach out to our support team anytime for further questions or suggestions: https://support.guitar-pro.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. 🙂

Anders Olsen - mars 2, 2025

This “suggestion” is huge, I know.
I don’t have a computer, I only have an iPad. I used to, though, and I LOVED Guitar Pro for writing instrumental music – in my case guitar tabs.
But I see the “completely redesigned app” will still remain a tab reader, thus without the option to write any tablature whatsoever. I would love to have this functionality on my iPad, and I would value it alongside the desktop app for sure!

Nicolas Arobas - mars 14, 2025

Hi Anders,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! We understand how valuable full tab editing on iPad would be, and we’d love to bring this functionality in future updates. While the upcoming app remains focused on tab reading, we’ve noted your suggestion for future improvements. Thanks again for your support! 🙂

Anthony Green - mars 2, 2025

Really look forward to using this with my guitar students.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Anthony,
Thanks for your comment! We hope you’ll enjoy this new version. 🙂

Ben Ville - mars 2, 2025

mark howard - mars 2, 2025

Would like to be able to write basic charts on my ipad. I like using the desktop program, its simple and intuitive. Most of the features I was able to discover just by trial and error. Any chance for an ipad version?

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Mark,
Thanks for your feedback 🙂
As of today, you can edit a single track using the NotePad feature in the mobile app. However, we hope to expand editing possibilities in future versions.

Ger - mars 2, 2025

Finally a dark mode I asked for this for almost ten years and never came

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

HI Ger,
Thank you for your patience, it will finally pay off 😉

Josh Norton - mars 2, 2025

Awesome, looking forward to this! Will it be able to play current gp8 files from PC? If it’s too complex, maybe it could just be read only so we can’t edit but can still play them?

Not a programmer so don’t know if I’m asking too much

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Josh,
You can already play Guitar Pro 8 files (.gp files) from the mobile app actually. But not all the Guitar Pro 8 features are supported to this day, such as the audio track feature for example. 🙂
Feel free to contact our Support if necessary: https://support.guitar-pro.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Gerhard - mars 2, 2025

These are great news. Nearly everything of my „wishlist“ is implemented.

Really a great job.

Will there be a possibility to start and stop playbay of a song by sending a Midi command from our band control software?

Will there be a possibility to create a list of songs (setlist) and select a specific song by sending a Mixi command from
our band control software.

These two features would enable GuitarPro to be used for live performances and not only for rehearsals especially on iPads or other tablet devices.

Kind regards
Gerhard

Nicolas Arobas - mars 14, 2025

Hi Gerhard,
Thanks a lot for your support! We’re glad to hear that many of the features you wished for are now implemented. We can’t share more details about the new features of the upcoming mobile app at this time, but we took note of your suggestions and appreciate your feedback! 🙂

Andy Jeffrey - mars 1, 2025

I author/edit many of my own guitar tabs in the desktop version of GP.

I put them all in a Dropbox folder that’s available on my iPhone. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a way for the mobile GP to remember my favorite local folder(s) to access these files easily and quickly.

Please add a “favorite folders” feature.

Thank you.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 14, 2025

Hi Andy,
Thanks for your feedback! We understand how useful a favorite folders feature would be for quick access to your files. We’ve noted your suggestion for future improvements. 😊

Luke - mars 1, 2025

I would love a means to compose from my mobile. I see there is some limited functionality but the reviews arent overly glowing about how easy it is to use that feature.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Luke,
We indeed hope to enable this possibility in future updates of the mobile app 😉

KBW - mars 1, 2025

There needs to be more new music. How about allowing customers to upload their own tabs and let people rate the quality of the scores too. Tabs that have ratings that are too low after a certain amount of time (6 months, a year… or whatever) should be removed.
I constantly find myself having to use the Guitar Tabs app and Songsterr when I can’t find certain songs in Guitar Pro but, they have too many inaccurate, low quality tabs.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 14, 2025

Hi,
This is an interesting idea! While this isn’t how our service currently works, we appreciate the suggestion and will keep it in mind for future developments. 🙂

Ingo - mars 1, 2025

Will there be a possibility to use a midi controller for e.g. starting / stopping or page turn (similar to fourscore)? This would be such a great feature.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Ingo,
It is not available at the moment, but we already added to our wishlist for future improvements 🙂

Jim Jeffrey - mars 1, 2025

I love this app and the new features look amazing.

It would be great if the tablet version had editing capabilities. I often travel with only my iPad and it would be very helpful to me in lessons and on the road if I did not have to have a laptop to create a new file when new ideas arise, especially in private lessons.

Thanks for continuing the development and I’m working to get the school where I teach to install GP in our lab.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Jim,
We sure hope to enable this possibility in future versions of the mobile app 🙂

Dallas Selman - mars 1, 2025

Please make a useful transpose option that deals with the chords, might be an AI thing!

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Dallas,
Chords can already transposed from Guitar Pro 8 if you select the Chords box from the Tools > Transpose menu.
Feel free to contact our support if necessary: https://support.guitar-pro.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Evan Sales - mars 1, 2025

Hi! I love Guitar Pro, and one feature I would like to see is an online Collaborative feature, so my drummer and I can write music together online with Discord to communicate and both of us be able to work on the same project from our individual homes. Maybe that’s possible? Thank you!!

Nicolas Arobas - mars 14, 2025

Hi Evan,
Hi! Thanks for your suggestion. That’s an interesting idea, and we’ll keep it in mind for future developments! 🙂

Alejandro Estrella - mars 1, 2025

For GP8, I would love for their to be a way to change how bends are displayed. For example, when in the Key of C, if I bend the note D up a half step, I want to see an Eb. GP8 only gives me the option to see a D# and it makes the standard notation look sloppy.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Alejandro,
Thanks for your feedback! Actually we’re already working on improving this window. We appreciate your support! 😊

Sarah S - mars 1, 2025

It would be fab to have the ability to edit files in the app. Your update didn’t suggest that this was going to happen in the next version.

thank you

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Sarah,
We indeed hope to enable this possibility in future updates of the mobile app 🙂

max - mars 1, 2025

Hi. What I want to ask is something a lot of GP users would like to know. All these years, the mobile app was paid. We don’t think it’s fair, especially for those, who own a copy of GP on PC. Can you share if the the new app will remain paid for existing users as before or something will change?

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Max,
The access conditions are not finalized yet, but we’ll keep you informed as soon as possible.
Thanks for your patience and interest! 😊

Mark - mars 1, 2025

Will you ever add the ability to mark up, meaning allow users to add comments, highlight text, and take notes.

Thomas Duflos - mars 3, 2025

Hi Mark, this is something people are asking a lot, I hope it will be available some day too. I have shared your comment with the Guitar Pro team, thank you.

emmett msw - mars 1, 2025

I’m sure I’m not the first to ask for this, but it would be great if Guitar Pro could import & convert .pdf files to Guitar Pro files.

Thomas Duflos - mars 3, 2025

Hi Emmett, that would be great indeed.

Jose Berrios - mars 1, 2025

First and foremost.. THANK YOU guitar pro for existing. The amount of help I get from your app and desktop software is inmense. I can’t be thankful enough.

Now, about feature recomendarions…I don’t know if these features exist already, but if they do I haven’t found them.
The first feature that I would love to see (and I know it will be a long shot) is a “suggested” placement on the fretboard of a group of notes, or frets. And I’ll explain better now. A LOT of times I have learned songs by ear and the positioning and movements from a phrase to another phrase is way more logical… and then when I pick up a tab from the internet or from Mysongbook I can see that the notes are correct, BUT the placement in the fretboard is very shifty (like long jumps from one place to the other). So I guess that what I’m trying to express is, using the power of Ai, and the knowledge of millions of guitarplayers to create more than one “Suggested position” and also the “Official artists” playing position. That would be like a UTOPIA of an application that is already great.

And the suggestion above opens a segway for my secondary recommendation. A “Suggested fingering” and also an “official artists” fingering”. I don’t know if I expressed my two suggestions in a clear way, BUT if you guys have any questions about my suggestions please feel free to contact me to the email I wrote in this form above.

Thank you.
J

Nicolas Arobas - mars 14, 2025

Hi Jose,
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re really happy to hear how much Guitar Pro helps you. 😊
We appreciate your feedback and suggestions. They’ve been added to our wishlist for future improvements.
Feel free to contact our support team for further assistance or to share more suggestions:
https://support.guitar-pro.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Thanks again!

kjs - mars 1, 2025

Initial was excited to hear that Guitar Pro Mobile is getting updated. Don’t see anything in your updates though that are making viewing, finding your songs any better. TabToolkit which hasn’t had development in years has a better interface (Songs by Name, Songs By Artist, Browse Artists, Favorites, Recently Added, Recently Opened). It is very hard to quickly find songs in the Guitar Pro app. There should also be a way to make Playlists / Setlists. Please fix the terrible interface of current app so user can easily browse Songs by Name, Songs by Artist, and Browse artists to be able to drill down quickly to what you are looking for and to be able to see what songs you have EASILY.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 14, 2025

Hi,
Thanks for your feedback. We understand that browsing and organizing songs efficiently is crucial. Improving the way users find and manage their files is something we’re considering for future updates. We’ve added your suggestions (better song organization, playlists/setlists) to our wishlist. Feel free to reach out to our support if you have any additional ideas: https://support.guitar-pro.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Muhammad - mars 1, 2025

Hey, I’m not too sure if this has been requested before or not considered due to technical limitations, but it would be very useful if you could actively change/write tabs in the mobile version as if you were tabbing on the computer. I find it would increase productivity and allow me to actively work on my music when I’m not at home.

Thomas Duflos - mars 3, 2025

Thank you very much for your suggestion.

Nicolas - mars 1, 2025

Karl - mars 1, 2025

A feature that would be really helpful and simple is to be able to sort tabs alphabetically once you select an artist. Currently, the artists are alphabetical but once you select an artist the list of songs is random.

Thanks!

Nicolas Arobas - mars 14, 2025

Hi Karl,
Thanks for your suggestion, I forward it to the team 😉

Michael - mars 1, 2025

Add a simple gp5 era General Midi sound pack so things can sound consistent cross-platform. Many don’t use the mobile version not only because it doesn’t allow editing but because your carefully crafted parts play all wrong on mobile (tone, track volume, bends, slides, harmonics, etc). A simple but consistent GM sound pack will be such a great improvement.

It’s unfortunate it won’t allow editing.

Please release an editor, at least a paid lite version for iPad featuring a GM sound pack.

Thanks, GP is the best. 🙂

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Michael,
Thanks for your feedback and suggestions! We understand the importance of consistency across platforms. While there are no plans for a GM sound pack or an editor on iPad at the moment, we’ve added your request to our wishlist for future improvements. Thanks again for your support! 😊

Gergely Besenyei - mars 1, 2025

Very cool new feature would be an auto scroll which could listen to my guitar playing and follow my actual tempo, slows down when necessary. Would be fantastic for learning new songs.

Thomas Duflos - mars 3, 2025

Hi Gergely, yes that would be fun. 😉

Gergely Besenyei - mars 1, 2025

It would be great to have the finger notes visible in the mobile app when learning a new song with guitar.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Gergely,
Thanks for your suggestion! We’ve added it to our wishlist for future improvements 😊

Thomas - mars 1, 2025

Please don’t make it a subscription service.

This looks amazing and I’d happily pay an upgrade fee, but like many people I’ve already bought the full version of guitar pro for desktop, and the iPad version,

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Thomas,
More than likely it shouldn’t be a subscription service, but the access conditions are not finalized, and the release date is not planned yet. We’ll keep you informed as soon as possible.
Thanks for your patience and interest! 😊

Fabian - mars 1, 2025

All the new features are nice to have, but the only new feature I would need is to edit tabs. Anyways, keep up the good work!

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Fabian,
We indeed hope to enable this possibility in future updates of the mobile app 🙂

Carlos Mendoza - mars 1, 2025

Please make it accessible for the ones that have purchased a desktop version of the software. I tried to download the iPad version and I had to pay $10 more than what I paid for the Mac version.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Carlos,
The access conditions are not finalized yet, but we’ll keep you informed as soon as possible.
Thanks for your patience and interest! 😊

Hellohello - mars 1, 2025

I’d love to see some kind of screen drawing or highlight tool integrated directly into the app. The idea would be to allow me to draw, annotate, or highlight directly over the sheet music within the app or software.

This would be incredibly useful for teaching, especially when explaining specific sections, marking fingerings, or highlighting rhythms — both in the mobile app and the desktop version.

For context, I often use Zoom’s annotation tools when screen sharing Guitar Pro, as it allows me to quickly draw over the music to explain things visually. Having this built directly into the app would make teaching far more interactive and efficient.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi,
Thanks for your suggestion! 🙂
This kind of annotation tool would indeed be very useful for teaching. While it’s not currently available, we’ve added it to our wishlist for future improvements. Feel free to reach out to our support if you have any additional details to share: https://support.guitar-pro.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Juergen - mars 1, 2025

I use Guitar Pro 8 every day and hope that the mobile app will be compatible with the desktop app. Otherwise it will be worthless for me.

One feature I really miss in Guitar Pro is an 8th note swing (only a shuffle mode is available). I hope for an update soon!

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Juergen,
Thanks for your feedback! 🙂 Could you contact our support and specify what kind of compatibility you’re looking for between the mobile and desktop apps? Can you describe your request in more detail: https://support.guitar-pro.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. Also, thanks for your suggestion about the 8th note swing—we’ve added it to our wishlist!

Adrian - mars 1, 2025

Gotta love guitar pro overall. It was so important for my development in music, I couldn’t even tell. But only the pc version; the guitar pro app for phone/tablet will remain essentially useless until you make it usable for writing / editing music. I would buy it immediately when this is done.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Adrian,
Thanks for your feedback! We definitely hope to offer this possibility in future improvements of the mobile app. Unfortunately, I can’t say when such a major upgrade will be available. Thanks for your understanding and interest! 🙂

Andre Dittrich - mars 1, 2025

My songbook need „my favourite“ as own filter

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Andre,
Sorry, we’re not sure we fully understand. You can already filter your favorites in Guitar Pro 8 or the mobile app.
Feel free to contact our Support if needed, we’ll be happy to help! 🙂

Brian Taylor - mars 1, 2025

It would be useful to format each page of sheet music individually, so that a page turn could occur in the most advantageous part of the song.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Brian,
Thanks for your feedback! Currently, these settings apply to the entire score. We appreciate your suggestion and add it to our wishlist. 🙂

Áron - mars 1, 2025

Please let us able to edit some notes, or do some scratch, like before. I do not wish the same functionalities like one the desktop app, but a bit more than playing the files.

Thomas Duflos - mars 3, 2025

Hi Aron, thank you for your suggestion.

Paul - mars 1, 2025

Please, make the design mode available in the iPad app. And a Stylesheet kind of view too. We need that depth of editing. I’m a music teacher, and it would change my life to have the iPad app that deep

Thomas Duflos - mars 3, 2025

Hi Paul, noted, thank you for your suggestion, that would be great indeed!

Jonny Lindqvist - mars 1, 2025

Great product guys!

One little issue that bugs me is that when I write drum notation I can’t put a hi-hat hit at the same time as a hi-hat close. Obviously you can (and often do) play both at the same time in real life. Perhaps it’s a MIDI limitation, but that shouldn’t get in the way of writing proper notation. (If it is a MIDI limitation, perhaps an option to say which one to send to MIDI, though I suspect you’d practically always want the hit.)

Cheers!

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Jonny,
Thanks for your feedback. 🙂
Please note that you can use two voices to notate the hi-hat hit and closing at the same time. However, both elements won’t be played back simultaneously for now. At least, it will be correctly displayed in your score. We’ve added this request to our wishlist for future improvements.

¡Saludos!

Matt - mars 1, 2025

This looks great! A much needed update. Will it be available on TestFlight? That’s the best way to get feedback from a wide range of users.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Matt,
Most likely, when a test version becomes available, it will be on TestFlight. 🙂

Atafic - mars 1, 2025

It would be nice to change the background color of sections of the score. Very useful to highlight difficult passages when studying a new piece

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Atafic,
We already added it to our wishlist 😉

Thomas Duflos - mars 3, 2025

Thank you for your suggestion, that would be great indeed to highlight notes or even sections.

Johannes Habla - mars 1, 2025

Hi there,

I’d like to have bigger letters in the “Akkorddiagrammbibliothek” (is there a translation in English?).
Current state is asking for a magnifying glass to read the chordnames properly

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Johannes,
Your request makes sense. Unfortunately, this is not possible as of today, but we have added it to our wishlist for future improvements. 🙂

Logan - mars 1, 2025

Is there a way yet or will there be a way to write multiple tracks in the mobile app?

Thomas Duflos - mars 3, 2025

Hi Logan, edition won’t be possible but the Multitrack View will logically be available in the future Guitar Pro Mobile app.

Tony Wainwright - mars 1, 2025

One of the things I don’t like with Tab is it doesn’t help beginners (me) with learning the fretboard, and subsequently music theory. Could you incorporate a system where upper and lower case letters are used instead of fret numbers (5th fret 3rd string [bass] is shown as D, d for 17th fret 3rd string) .

While not being as easy as numbers, it would encourage users to look on the fretboard to find the right note. Sharps and flats could be represented as + and – respectively.

Nicolas Arobas - mars 13, 2025

Hi Tony,
Thank you for your suggestion! While your idea is interesting, tablature is designed to provide a quick and intuitive way to find notes on the fretboard without requiring music theory knowledge. Using letters instead of fret numbers could make reading more complex, especially with different tunings. However, we appreciate your feedback and will share it with our team. Feel free to contact our support if you have further suggestions 😊

Arto Kujala - mars 1, 2025

Please improve the mobile apps writing features. I believe I’m not the only one who gets new song ideas away from home and right now the gp mobile doesn’t work very well on writing stuff down on the go.
Some basic stuff like multitrack writing (and view), pre defined bars based on your time signature and making the overall view similar like reading the tabs would help a lot.

Thomas Duflos - mars 3, 2025

Hi Arto, thank you for your suggestions.

Pauli Hodju - mars 1, 2025

In the era of AI, my dream would be that the mobile app would recognise your playing and the notes from recording and write them down in gp. This would be a game changer in so many levels!!

Even the beta versio of it would help a lot already.

Thomas Duflos - mars 3, 2025

Hi Pauli, that would be amazing indeed. Thank you for sharing your suggestion with us!

moe - mars 1, 2025

Please add the feature to shift the tuning of all tracks without changing the fingerings. Ultimate guitar. Com has this feature.

Please add a feature to harmonize a selected group of notes to a user selected interval

Thomas Duflos - mars 3, 2025

HI, thank you for your suggestions. I’ve shared them with the Guitar Pro team.

Charlie B - févr. 28, 2025

If people are listening for feed back.. something that would be cool to have added is the possibility to load multiple audio files.
The current work around is to take multiple audio files and render them together as a single file in a DAW and the transcribe along side that using empty bar’s inside GP-8. It would be much cooler if you could simply load multiple audio files.
I’m not suggesting GP becomes a multitrack player.. just to be able to load them one after the other on the audio track would be awesome..

Thomas Duflos - mars 3, 2025

Hi Charlie, adding multiple audio files is something we are working on! Thank you for your comment.

Kabukibear - févr. 15, 2025

You know something else that should be fixed and that I’ve emailed support about before?

Your harmonics.

For the nylon guitar, your 12th fret 1st string harmonic is SO flat it’s practically unusable. The only one of the nylon sounds that are close to being in tune is “Nylon Modern.” Everything else is SUPER flat.

And for steel string, on ones like “Blues” and “Soloing” you have the 12th fret natural harmonic and the 5th fret natural harmonic on the first string swapped! It’s literally the wrong note.

Considering how often that 12th fret natural harmonic is used in guitar playing, that’s a problem. If I want to use any audio from guitarpro and it has that note, I have to write it as an artificial harmonic to just get it close to sounding correct, which doesn’t even get into the “thunky” sound all of the artificial harmonics have. They’re more pluck than note.

Love the program for the most part, and I get that rerecording stuff is involved, but MAN I’d love it if you gave your harmonics a little love, preferably after tuning.

Nicolas Arobas - févr. 21, 2025

Hi,
Thanks for detailed feedback and suggestions, I forward them to our development team for future improvements 🙂

Sheldon Fernandes - févr. 15, 2025

Please include a way to page break. I’ve been asking for this for years. I would like to be able to seperate pages without having to make a whole new document, or empty bars. A simply page break insert would help a lot.

Nicolas Arobas - févr. 19, 2025

Hi Sheldon,
Unfortunately this option is not available to this day, I confirm we already added it to our wishlist and forward your feedback to our development team.
