Charlie Christian tabs
How many guitarists had such an impact on the evolution of guitar playing that a seminal piece of gear ended up bearing their name? This is the case of jazz revolutionary Charlie Christian, who gave his name to the first Gibson electric pickup. As a member of Benny Goodman’s band, he decided the guitar should be a solo instrument, and therefore experimented with the earliest attempts to make it louder. His warm playing went on to inspire the likes of Les Paul, Wes Montgomery or even Chuck Berry.
