Chic is the absolute tightest funk band ever, and their deep sense of groove made the whole world dance to hits like Le Freak and Good Times in the late seventies. Guitarist Nile Rodgers is a huge part of that sound, and his rhythm parts, all played on a white Strat plugged straight into the board, are lessons of right hand proficiency in themselves. That didn’t stay a secret for long and he went on to produce albums by Bowie (Let’s Dance), Mick Jagger, Stevie Ray and Jimmie Vaughan, David Lee Roth and many others.
