Joni Mitchell probably wouldn’t have put it this way, but then again Joni never had the million-selling singles that fellow Canadian singer / songwriter / guitarist Avril Lavigne has to show for herself. She was only seventeen when her album Let Go came out in 2002, and her angry pop perfectly summed up the adolescent angst with the hits Sk8er Boi and Complicated.
