Success is a fickle mistress, and it takes some people a lifetime of work before they finally get any recognition. French composer Bizet died in 1875, the very same year when his masterpiece opera Carmen got premiered and finally got its author the interest he deserved. His other works were also subsequently printed and studied, including many piano compositions and orchestral pieces full of humor.
