As far as Christmas songs go, Petit Papa Noël is still the undefeated French heavyweight, with almost six million copies of the 1946 Tino Rossi version sold to this day. There have been numerous covers over the years but the singer and actor from Corsica was the first to bring it to life as part of the soundtrack of a movie he was starring in. His Latin charisma surely helped but his strong golden voice assured its lasting quality.
