A sixty-plus year old woman playing a reversed right-handed guitar with a dazzling technique is a sight to see, and lucky for those of us who did not get to see her perform, a few videos of Elizabeth Cotten still exist. She started out on the banjo at the beginning of the twentieth century and moved on to develop a unique style of alternate picking. But you don’t need to play your guitar upside-down to enjoy the classic Freight Train !
