The young Englishman’s career only lasted for six years, but he did have a huge influence on the folk scene of the seventies and was later rediscovered by another generation of melancholy neo-folk disciples. His soft mournful voice and superb fingerpicked guitar parts perfectly fit the superb songs he wrote for the three albums released before he died at the age of 26 : Five Leaves Left, Bryter Layter and Pink Moon.
