There was a time when writing songs was actually a full-time job, and back in those days Ray Noble ruled supreme. He was born in 1903 in the UK but moved in the USA during the thirties, which is where he wrote his most memorable tunes, including Love Is The Sweetest Thing, Old Spinning Wheel, and his signature composition The Very Thought Of You, a song originally sung by Bing Crosby and covered by Sinatra, Fitzgerald and even Albert King.
