Mike Oldfield tabs
Ambitious progressive rock is not usually linked with huge commercial success, but multi instrumentalist Mike Oldfield certainly proved that miracles do happen. His 1973 album Tubular Bells, a two-part concept piece released on the then-new label Virgin, went on to sell more than 15 million copies. Its use as the soundtrack for the horror film The Exorcist did help, but Oldfield’s sense of layering and composition is what made it possible.
