The eighties were the era of post-punk drum machines and synths, and rockabilly was as unfashionable as could be back then. It only took three young guys from NYC to change it all, as the Stray Cats brought the fifties back by mixing it with a punk sensibility and the virtuosic traits of guitar genius Brian Setzer. From their 1980 debut hit Runaway Boys to their numerous breakups and reunions, they inspired a whole generation of revivalists.
